Twitter
Go to Twitter's website and sign up for a free account! twitter.com/signup

To post a Tweet via the web:
1. Sign in to your Twitter account.
2. Type your Tweet into the box at the top of your Home timeline, or click the Tweet button in the top navigation bar - don’t forget to include the hashtag #tradeswomen and
#womeninapprenticeship
3. Make sure your update is fewer than 140 characters. Twitter will count the characters for you! Remaining characters show up as a number below the box.
4. Click the Tweet button to post the Tweet to your profile.
5. You will immediately see your Tweet in the timeline on your homepage.

To post a Tweet via text message (SMS):
Another way (some say the best way!) to post updates is from your mobile phone.
First, connect your phone with your Twitter account, then simply send your Tweet as a text message to your appropriate Twitter short code (40404) the same way you'd send any other text message. Remember to count your character and don’t forget to include the hashtag

Instagram:
1. Register / Setup
Instagram is exclusively a mobile platform so you must download the iPhone or Android app to your device in order to register an Instagram account. Accounts are public by default, but you may elect to create a private account. In that case, only users who you approve may follow you and view your photos. Head to your profile tab and scroll down to “Privacy.” There, you may select to make photos private. Once registered, change your profile picture and edit your profile information, which includes a brief 150-character bio and a website.
